Thank you for your interest in becoming a Class Parent for the upcoming school year! 

Being a Class Parent is a wonderful way to stay connected to your child’s experience at McKinley School while helping build a strong, welcoming community among our families. 

McKinley truly thrives when parents get involved,

and we appreciate your willingness to volunteer and make a difference! 

📅 Class Parent Volunteer Form

Please complete the Class Parent Volunteer Form by Friday, September 18 if you would like to be considered.

👉 If you have more than one child at McKinley, please select ONLY ONE classroom.

🎲 Selection Process

If more than two parents volunteer for a class, a random drawing will be held to select the Class Parents.

If you aren't selected, don't worry! 💙 We would still love for you to be involved. There are many wonderful ways to volunteer and support McKinley!

💙 Class Parent Responsibilities 

📌 Parent/Teacher Liaison

Serve as the main point of contact between your child’s teacher and classroom families. 

📌 Teacher Assistance

Help coordinate classroom needs such as supplies, special projects, or other teacher requests. 

📌 Class Parties

Work with your co-Class Parent and teacher to plan Halloween game stations and End-of-Year celebrations.

📌 Collect voluntary donations from parents to help fund classroom activities.

📌Please note: Due to allergies, no food will be served at classroom parties. Further guidance will be shared.

📌 Teacher Birthday

Organize a small classroom acknowledgment, such as a group card or having the students sing Happy Birthday! 

📌Teacher Gifts

Coordinate parent contributions for holiday and end-of-year teacher gifts. 

💙 PTO Support:

🍎 Teacher Appreciation Week:
Assist with PTO-led projects and encourage parent and student participation.

📣 Promote PTO Events:
Share information about PTO-sponsored activities and encourage families to participate.

🤝 PTO Meetings:
We ask that at least one Class Parent attend each General PTO Meeting, which is held twice a year.

☕ Parent Community Building

Optional: Organize a casual parent social within the first six weeks of school to help families connect and get to know one another. 💙🤍
