Classroom Support to Teachers
Throughout the year, our McKinley teachers work hard to make their classrooms a place that is conducive to productive learning. From time to time, this requires the purchase of new equipment and supplies. Through a classroom support program, the PTO provides financial support to help defray costs that would otherwise be personally incurred by teachers. All requests must go through an official proposal to Mrs. McCabe, and upon her approval, a vote by our executive board.
November 2021- Second Grade Flower Dissection
The PTO was happy to provide support to our second grade team so their students could do a hands on experiment dissecting a flower.
May 2021- Fifth Grade Roller Coaster Kerfuffle
The PTO fulfilled a classroom support request to assist our 5th Grade classes in a S.T.E.A.M. project to create paper roller coasters. Throughout the project, 5th graders learned all about the principles of physics and motion using only marbles, card stock and scotch tape. They worked through the design process, building their structures, testing, re-designing and finalizing their coasters. We were excited to see them show off their hard work! Great job to all the teams!
